Rock Stars That Should Have Died Young
May 29th 2008 07:34
Eddie Vedder
When he should have died: about six months before Kurt Cobain
How he should have died: crushed to death in a disorderly moshpit
How he would have been remembered: the man’s man of grunge, instead of a soft-waltzing punce
David Bowie
When he should have died: in 1975, give or take a few years
How he should have died: killed by falling space debris
How he would have been remembered: a talented freak, instead of an untalented freak
Chris Cornell
When he should have died: just after the release of Audioslave’s first album
How he should have died: freak blowdrying incident
How he would have been remembered: the last great Seattle Sound Warrior, instead of not being remembered much at all, really…
Bob Dylan
When he should have died: 1966, after his gig at the Manchester Free Trade Hall
How he should have died: stoning (and no, not so he would remembered that guy that really got stoned in the 60s)
How he would have been remembered: as the great martyr of rock, instead of the… um … shit… I know he was important for some reason…
James Hetfield
When he should have died: 1993, just before the recording would begin on the follow-up to The Black Album
How he should have died: obliterated in a head-on with a petrol tanker
How he would have been remembered: ferocious but thoughtful man of steel, instead of short-haired lawyer who sues school kids for downloading his lame power ballads
Jon Bon Jovi
When he should have died: at birth
How he should have died: as quietly as possible
How he would have been remembered: as someone who never became Jon Bon Jovi, instead of someone who never became Steven Tyler
Steven Tyler
When he should have died: um... how about the instant after Liv Tyler was conceived...

no, Chris Cornell? no! i love him! haha
poor old Cornell and Bowie, i think both of their most recent albums are their best but different strokes for different folks i guess . . . Vedder got very folksy and mellow as he got older, i think its because he started hanging out with Neil Young

To be honest I haven't heard Bowie's latest effort. I think I gave up about ten years ago! I'll take your advice and have a proper listen to both tho
